Click on the magnifying glass to search for players, then the filter button, then set the league to National Hockey League and uncheck all positions except Left Wing.

now i tried with different type players to shop.. but when shopping example a 3 star player i only get 1-2 start with 7th draft pick back... ??? Would make sense if i try to shop a worn out 1,5-2 star player... But it seems that no matter what you shop, the AI just offers some ****ty player with either 6th or 7th draft pick ? |

I view those responses as starting points in the negotiation. Of course the other guy is going to try to unload his trash for your treasure.
What you can do is see how much response there is, then look for the team with the best fit, then start negotiating. Clear out what they want to give you, then pick what you're looking for. Your scout will tell you if he thinks it's a workable deal. When you get to the line of 'I think they might accept this' and 'this is well balanced', just know that I have never seen the AI accept a 'well balanced' offer, and 90-95% of the time, they'll bite on the 'might accept'. The exception being 1st round draft picks where you don't find out until after the offer that they won't move that 1st round pick... for anything. Seriously, I offered 5-star 29 year old Wayne Gretzky for the #4 overall pick, and the AI refused. The other thing you'll want to look at, from the myriad of offers you hopefully generated, is the teams that have a weakness at the position you're trying to move. I've found it's generally easier to get a little extra back.. like a 2nd rounder instead of a 3rd. |
