You can keep fictional players (game generated) from reaching the majors though. There's an option in league setup, not sure which tab, to "prevent fictional players from reaching the majors". This may not be exactly what you want but it might help some.

I am aware of that option, and have used it, but I do enjoy seeing a career minor league guy get called up once in a while. Which is very rare but not impossible.

I am finding 2 sections of PCM's for each league. Do you know what each one affects?

I think that part of the issue is the lack of instruction on the use of this file and the relationship of the other files and in game adjustments. It seems that I have to start a game and then tweak things before the right mix occurs. Then I have to delete guys for countries I do not want. What we need is a default for all countries to have non existent baseball and then adjust according to our taste or history.

Another issue I have with that process is that once you have modified the XML file, cannot modify it as you go along using the nation editor module within the game. For example I play historical fictional alot, historical teams and fictional players. As I move through eras and my league evolves I like the racial and ethnic makeup to reflect change of those eras. Right now I can't do that since the world_default.xml is hard coded which sucks!

This is supposed to be patched up soon but, who knows? Looks like it's back to playing modern era MLB leagues for now.

You can make those changes using the in-game nation editor.

Is it too early to give up hope on seeing the new editor that Andreas promised us in this thread ? Are we still in the "early patch" phase of ootp 13's development?

As pathetic as this may sound, I've actually spent almost as much time fiddling around with the world default xml as I have playing the game. It's assuredly no fun, and has turned into a real showstopper for me.
