Add Ons Central

I just recently purchased OOTP20, and I'm noticing that the only Databases available in add-ons central in OOTP20 are for the skins. What happened to all the other pre-installed add-ons that were available in previous versions? Specifically, I'm looking for the historical facegen and nicknames packages.

I think this is what you're after. It sounds like they've switched to naming them by playerID (i.e. ruthba01 = Babe Ruth, johnswa01 = Walter Johnson etc), which can make it somewhat tedious. I just keep dragging my facegens into each subsequent game. I still have close to 35,000 of them. Serial collector over the years I guess.

I've spent some time deleting a whole bunch of duplicates, and making the name of the facegen fit the name of the player in the Master.csv file i.e. A J Pollock, and J J Hoover, and the like. Hope this is what you're looking for. Cheers.

Add on central has pretty much passed away. If you go to the mod section of the forum you can still find some things like player pictures and stadiums. It is a lot more hassle to get them in your game.

Appreciate the responses. A couple of things:

1) I went to the link supplied, and replaced the fg_file; but I'd say @ 50% of the photos look wrong (hair colors, ethnicity). Any suggestions?

2) The demise of Add-Ons central is very disappointing. Why even keep the menu item in OOTP20 if it's dead?

What are others doing for the photos/fac gens - especially historical players? Are you just not using any photos or facegens?

Try the above web site. I found this in the mod section in a photo thread. I think the title of the thread was 36000 pictures and it was about half way down on the page. Should be able to find historical face gens in the mod section also.
After you download the zip file. You will need to go into the download folder and extract it to your document/OOTP/photo file. I hope that is correct since I am not to computer literate and I had to play around with it to get it to show up.
Yes, add on central is not much use anymore and I too made a suggestion to go ahead and take it out of the game.

Wouldn't it go in the fg_files folder, not the photos folder?

I am not a computer guy but I put player pictures in the photo file and the historic face gens in the fg_files. Anyway, that worked for me.

Well, I'm completely confused. Do any facegens come with OOTP20? I uploaded the recent hotfix - which I assume overwrites anything I had previously copied into the facegen folder. When I look in the facegen folder, I do see a lot of names/historical players. So, my question is - do we have to use a mod in order to get photos or facegens? What exactly is the default in OOTP20? When I use the default, it seems like maybe 10% of players have correct gens, the rest being wrong.

The default is generic created facegens. Player pictures and historic facegens do not come with the game. To get player pictures and historic face gens need to go to the mod section of forum. When you download a patch, it does not over ride the photos or historic face gens. Player pictures do not come with game because of no agreement , that I know of, with Players Association.
