The Terriers are chugging along at 52-46 which is 2nd place in the division but a couple games behind for the 2nd wildcard spot. Sliding Billy and Josh Beckett win the loudest barking Terrier nominations this year.

Here's a list of the Terriers initial opening day starters 39 seasons ago compared with today.

Rotation
98 Chris Sale----------100 Christy Mathewson
79 Ernie Broglio-------100 Jacob deGrom
76 Britt Burns----------97 Don Drysdale
72 Barry Zito-----------95 Bob Gibson
71 Zach Eflin-----------92 Josh Beckett

Bullpen
84 Dave Righetti------97 Charlie Morton
78 Tanner Scott-------96 Jonathan Papelbon
74 Mark Melancon----94 Aroldis Chapman
73 Jimmy Sherfy------93 Blake Snell
68 Daniel Zamora-----92 Tiny Bonham
68 Dylan Floro---------91 Felipe Vazquez
65 Matt Bowman------89 Dylan Betances

Lineup
C 90 Gabby Hartnett------90 Gabby Hartnett
1b 72 Matt Adams--------96 Heinie Zimmerman
2b 74 Zach Cozart--------92 Jeff McNeil
3b 96 Justin Turner-------97 Al Rosen
SS 62 Peanuts Lowrey--75 Dave Cash
LF 66 Alex Johnson------87 Kirby Puckett
CF 68 Ichiro Suzuki-------87 Garry Maddox
RF 69 Rocky Colavito----92 Sliding Billy Hamilton
DH 69 Rod Carew--------100 Juan Soto

Bench
C 74 Francisco Cervelli---70 Thurman Munson
IF 69 John Olerud----------96 Justin Turner
IF 66 Tom Herr--------------66 Luis Aparicio
OF 63 Dylan Cozens------86 Ketel Marte

The only original members still left are Hartnett, Turner, and occasionally Sale. Sale still plays every other season he's just not on the roster right now. I've also had numerous chances to upgrade backup catcher, but I always reject the guy in favor of my fellow Kent State alum Thurman Munson. It's pretty amazing how many cards I've pulled over 39 seasons to upgrade this much. In fact, I've opened an even 700 packs to this point. Here's the updated breakdown....

Packs Opened- 700
Perfects- 4
Diamonds- 26
Golds- 76
Silvers- 188

The Terriers were out of control in a good way for once. I earned 16,970 points for this. Apparently they like "blizzards" from Dairy Queen.

My favorite part is Christy Mathewson threw a complete game shutout despite sitting in the dugout for most of it.

Sure, he got lots of rest watching the offense circling the bases.

Amazing game.

The Terriers made the playoffs for the second season in a row and this time we actually had a winning record 83-79. We were promptly sent packing in the wildcard game. All's good at the Dog Park though as I have around 24 packs to open later.

Best In Show:
Heinie Zimmerman .291 23HR 121RBI (led the league in RBI's for the second straight season)

In the Doghouse:
Juan Soto, only batted .221 but cracked 19 dingers so he's half-heartedly in the doghouse.

You got a tough league this week. Heinie's off to a great start though.

Got a team on the other side, the 2059 PL champion Steelport Saints

I have no delusions about playoffs this week. And yes, I saw your Saints with their shiny new PL title over there. Congrats on finally getting a championship
Do we have any head to heads this week? I haven't logged in since monday morning and didn't check the schedule when I was on.

I think since we're both in the east (me in the AC and you in the NC), we may get an interleague series.

It looks like the Terriers have a road trip to AC leading Steelport in September.
I'll be instructing all 25 pooches to use the Steelport outfield as a bathroom during warmups.

In surprising news, we're 2nd place in the NC division and only 3.5 games back of another playoff spot.

A very mediocre season has come to an end with an 81-81 record. We were in the running for the second wildcard most of the season but ultimately finished 2 games back. Good luck to Magus in the playoffs.

Best In Show:
Heinie Zimmerman .278 31HR 126 RBI (3rd in the league)

In the Doghouse:
Dave Cash .247 1HR 33RBI (to be fair he's a 2b I'm force playing at SS)

Packs Opened- 735
Perfects- 4
Diamonds- 26
Golds- 79
Silvers- 201

Steelport are hulking up for another deep run after winning their wildcard game and somehow knocking off the heavily-favored Novato Diamond Miners. If we get title #2, we'll invite the Terriers to celebrate in true Third Street Saints fashion.

...by having the dogs chase the parade floats.

The Terriers are awful party guests. Especially when it comes to parade floats. Lots of damage should be expected.
Good luck the rest of the way!

Ruh Roh! (Spoken in my best Scooby Doo voice)

The Terriers are in big big trouble this season. Currently we have a .347 winning percentage which qualifies for 3rd worst and there's a huge gap between the bottom 3 teams (me) and the 4th worst.

I'll be immediately instructing my Terriers to play like 1890's ballplayers where every umpire will be challenged to fist fights on objectional calls and be cursed this way to Sunday. I'm employing the John McGraw and Patsy Tebeau strategy. If a riot ensues or a granstand burns to the ground, so be it, the Terriers need a strategy change.

After a dreadful season, the Terriers finished 65-97 and managed to avoid relegation by 3 games. For much of the season too many of my canines were more concerned with digging holes in the outfield in what I like to call a "terrier see, terrier do" mentality, rather than playing baseball.
I adopted a 97 Mike Clevinger this morning, so he's being slotted into the bullpen as a setup man. Aroldis Chapman will be sent to timeout for his lack of focus.

Best In Show:
Sliding Billy .282 6HR 43RBI 75SB (led the league in steals)

In the Doghouse:
Jacob deGrom 4-17 6.55ERA 1.54WHIP

Packs Opened- 761
Perfects- 4
Diamonds- 28
Golds- 83
Silvers- 208

The Terriers are puttering around at 47-49. We're still within striking distance for a wildcard but equally close to chaos should an ice cream truck drive by the Dog Park during a home game.
Heinie Zimmerman was announced as the best focused pup for the first half of the season and has been awarded a new flea collar and a bag of Beggin Strips.
My fingers are crossed going forward.

The Terriers finished third in the division at 76-86. We've participated in 15 perfect league seasons so far and have come up with a losing record 13 of the 15. We've made the playoffs twice though, so that's something. It's much harder to unpack cards once you've already got a roster of mostly diamonds so we'll keep trudging along. I'm allowing all the Terriers free rein in the Dog Park dumpsters today, so hopefully they'll all bond over ripping trash to shreds and dragging it all over the outfield. My hope is this managing strategy will result in a few extra wins next season.

Best In Show:
Heinie Zimmerman .276 22HR 95RBI

In the Doghouse:
Jacob deGrom 13-15 5.61ERA

My Terriers are spending more time wandering the ballpark concourse looking for dropped chicken wings and ketchup splatters than they are spending time playing baseball this season. We're 43-53 and in last place in our division.
On the bright side, we've got a trio of vintage pooches headed to the all star game...
Sliding Billy, Heinie, and Christy. Let's hope they don't embarrass me by running off with a hot pretzel and then playing tug of war with it.

The pooches managed to turn around a crummy season by playing some solid baseball down the stretch. We missed the playoffs but ended up with a winning record 82-80. It must of been the raw pizza dough the Terriers dragged out of the concession stand freezer and immediately scarfed down. Whatever works.

Best In Show:
Heinie Zimmerman .300 28HR 115RBI

In the Doghouse:
Gabby Hartnett .213 4HR 30RBI

Packs Opened- 777
Perfects- 4
Diamonds- 29
Gold- 83
Silvers- 209

Luckily there's some pretty horrendous teams in P454, so my 44-51 record at the all star break puts us right in the middle of the pack. In surprising news, Jacob deGrom (one of the worst perfect cards in the game) made the all star team. I thought this was his only appearance, but it turns out he was an all star 20 seasons ago in 2044.
My bad.
I guess he's not as terrible as I thought since he's capable of turning it on every 20 seasons lol.

Yeah, his card's a disappointment in PT 2.0... He is one of 2 perfects I've gotten in packs, too...(Yelich)... I wonder if he'd get more credit if the Mets gave him more than 2 and a half runs a game to work with. His ERA has been tight.
