I am so happy I pulled the silver Gwynn last Friday out of my starter packs. He is a goon. Keep having games every now and then where he is real close to hitting for the cycle. The funny thing is, the game has him marked as 'hot' fairly often. And I'm like "no game, that's just Tony being Tony!" |

Had Keith Hernandez in beta (I believe he's a 77 1B) and he performed much better than my gold hitters.
Tony Gwynn '94 is another great silver, though he hasn't been good for me so far in Bronze. |

Tom Pagnozzi - 63 overall, 90 at catcher, with 75 ability and 80 arm. Can't go wrong with a great defensive catcher.

Can’t recommend Chad Pinder enough as a utility guy with a live bat.

Willie McGee might not be the best looking fellow but has a nice Silver card!

There was a ghost I bid on who is not listed in the database. I went to bed confident that my 4000 bid (there was no BIN) would take the card yet I woke up to find I was outbid and then some. Never bid 4K on a bronze before. Ever...
A 2B bronze with maxed out speed and defense... |

Additionally, for anyone looking for a bargain bronze first baseman, might I recommend the plus-defense, switch-hitting Wes Parker as an alternative to the Mickey Vernons and George Burnses that we've been used to.

I've been a fan of Alex Reyes as a SP/RP role. One team he has a 3.30 era and the other a 5.0 so its hit and miss.

Tim Burke, Luis Guillorme to date are good for me. good bronze and silver card are more expensive in PT 20...I think this year, bargain card are young bronze live card players with potential to be better during the season.

Peanuts Lowrey (62) - Zero power, but nice contact/gap/avoid k rates; and a solid defender in CF (in my current entry league rounds, he has 15 assists in 123 games played)

There aren't a lot of players at any level, much less at bronze, who can get as high as an 81 at the hardest OF position and a 61 at the hardest IF position.

I know the Tony Gwynn 69 and 76 has been mentioned in this thread, but my favorite one is the silver 77. Has passable defense(can be trained up to 78 in LF if moved there) Oh and hes way cheaper than the 76 version.
Not Many Pitchers have been listed in this thread, but my favorite value guy is Shane Carle Bronze 68. He is a reliever, but has 56 stamina so can be put as a starter. Here are his ratings as a starter. He has been my best pitcher by far. He has a 1.94 era in 16 starts! Also the Bronze SS Larry Bowa card that has been posted in this thread I agree with. He is really good value. Here are his stats for me so far this year Last edited by Canadaleaf; 03-29-2019 at 06:33 PM. |

Jeff Cirillo (76)
Eddie Mayo (69) Note: Mayo does not start with a SS rating - in the process of training and he should top out around 99. Last edited by SodoMojo; 03-29-2019 at 08:53 PM. |
