Commish unable to "force trades"
I run the Off-Topic Baseball League (OTBL2) and I've run into an ongoing issue since creating the league in OOTP2007.
We've completed one season and we're in the off-season of our 2nd season. What I'm running into is that my commissioner ID is listed as "My Name (no team, Commissioner)" but I cannot force trades. To complete a trade, I have to "Act as:" one of the team GMs and then there's the whole issue of the "Force Trade" button being unavailable. So if the trade isn't perfect in the eyes of the mythical owner, I can't complete the trade. Any insight into this? Did my commissioner status get corrupted or something? Did I not create my ID as commissioner correctly? I'm flat out stumped and it's really going to be a problem if I can't find a better resolution than asking GMs to modify their trades because of the whims of a powerless commish. |

That's odd. As a Commish myself I am able to force trades while running my own team as well as using 'Act As' other teams. Try creating a new Commish account on the Manager screen and see if that new one can do it.

Just tried that and I get identical results.
On the trading screen it says "You do not manage a team or your league does not allow trades." I've verified that the Game Setup allows trading. Does this mean I HAVE to run a team as Commish? |

Sure looks that way, which is kind of inconvenient.

Are you guys sure about this? I've seen commish accounts used that weren't tied to an individual team, and I know that there's at least one league out there where the commish isn't a GM.

What was your problem, if you don't mind sharing, in case others have the same trouble later on?
