help with Pierre's career editor

I've got a question that I originally posted in the mods folder but didn't get any responses. I apologize for the stupidity of my question, but I'm a relative newcomer to this game and its utilities.

I'm wondering if someone might walk me through using Pierre's career editor. I've got it downloaded, and I'm able to get into the editor and save my changes, but I can't figure out how to make the changes apply in my OOTP6 league. Let's say, for instance, that I want to change a player's number of pro years from 6 to 3. Can someone tell me, step-by-step, how to do it? Or maybe there's a thread in existence that can tell me? Is there a manual for using these utilities? I've got some computer-generated rookies with no major-league stats, but the computer says they've got one year of major-league experience. I want to fix that problem. Likewise, I want imported players with major-league stats (say, someone like Trace Coquilette) to have their numbers of pro years reflected accurately.
