Making Big League Managers Minor League Managers?
I'm currently working on a roster set for the upcoming season, which I might zip and post here for everyone to download -- if it works, and if I get permission from people who REALLY helped me out.
With managers, a lot of us complain that because managers can't get hired and fired, thus unrealistically staying with the same team forever. So here's my question to you. Would it be better to simply name the Major League Manager "(Team)'s Manager" so you can use your imagination as to who that is, and then use real-life Major League Managers as Minor League managers? That way, you would be able to sign Joe Torre or Bobby Cox, and while it won't have all of the impact of being the big league manager, it would actually mean something. And if you actually keep up with which managers go to what teams, you can manually change the team tendencies to reflect the real-life tendencies of these managers. This would be very similar to the way that real-life GMs are the Scouting Directors in the game. Obviously this wouldn't be a big deal (and it might get stupid if you have Joe Torre, Bobby Cox, and Mike Hargrove in your minor league system), but I just thought it might add a little something to the game. So what do you guys think? |
