Steinfeldt hit an RBI double with one out to cut the deficit down to a single run. Then, with two out, Slagle tied the game with a run-scoring double of his own. In the bottom of the tenth, Sheckard hit a one out double but injured his leg sliding into second and had to leave the game. He was replaced by Solly Hofman.
