What are you FA and financial settings? I am under reserve clause rules for MLB but have FA in my AAA after 12 years of service.

No reserve clause, 6 years for free agency, 3 years for arbitration. Same as today. When I get to a point where I see the players starting to make more than the owners (i.e. greater than a 50/50 split), I'll cut the Player Development Budget Baseline down to zero, because this is a historical game and players will develop or not develop on their own regardless of whether that is in place or not. For now it serves to keep those greedy owners from making too much. Another reason for cutting it to zero at that point is to avoid teams losing money, so I don't have to step in and help them out.

I broke down and reduced both The Big Train’s and Rusie’s injuries to about 600 days but raised there injury proneness, not sure if I did the right thing.....

I'm sure Markus will send the OOTP police to your door post-haste. Seriously, there is no right or wrong. It's your game and if you can't stand to see them gone, bring 'em back.

The Left Arm of God has announced his retirement after the 1914 season. I may post his player page pitching stats here, if you don’t mind.
It was tough to bring them back, but I thought, “Will I enjoy my league more them in?”. The answer was YES, so in my mind they both tried a new radical surgery, the early Tommy John and recovered well enough to attempt a comeback in my league. Last edited by JaBurns; 06-17-2018 at 04:07 PM. |

Absolute lock for your HoF (If you have one). Some people would say no because he only has 210 wins, but I don't give those people much creedence, and I am fully on the Brian Kenny "Kill the Win" train.

I have a HOF, we shall see in my 1920. First post was a mistake but I didn’t know how to delete it; interestingly Joey Votto is still playing in my league at age 46.

Do you have recalc plus development on or just recalc? I can see where that could happen with just recalc, but one would think with development on as well he would eventually retire due to the general suckitude that happens to all players in their 40s. This is precisely the reason I use recalc with development, and even then I still get the stragglers, who just. Will. Not. Retire.

Using development and 5 year recalc, Votto is still playing reasonably well, the Gordie Howe of my HRD.

Well...They're definitely wearing ballcaps, and maybe we can get some of those old school stirrups in there, at least for the Mounted OOTP Police.

First round of the 1906 Amateur Draft, with player ages as of June 30, 1907, and all the positions they are rated at.
1. Washington Senators: Yogi Berra, 20, C/LF 2. New York Highlanders: Miguel Tejada, 22, 3B/SS 3. Cleveland Naps: Robby Thompson, 23, 2B 4. Boston Doves: Butch Wynegar, 19, C 5. Brooklyn Superbas: Tom P Daly, 18, C/2B 6. Cincinnati Reds: John Montefusco, 23, RHP 7. St. Louis Cardinals: Juan Uribe, 22, 2B/3B/SS 8. Chicago Cubs: Jim Gantner, 22, 2B/3B 9. Pittsburgh Pirates: Dave Boswell, 18, RHP 10. Philadelphia Athletics: Gene Bacque, 18, RHP/1B 11. St. Louis Cardinals: Hank Edwards, 21, LF/CF/RF 12. Chicago White Sox: Steve Cishek, 23, RHP 13. Chicago Cubs: Gus Mancuso, 21, C 14. St. Louis Cardinals: Mike Dorgan, 22, RF 15. Washington Senators: Joe Beimel, 23, LHP 16. New York Giants: Bud Tinning, 25, RHP A slightly deeper draft than the 1905 draft with two very good picks at the top. The Brooklyn Superbas drafted 1B Buck O'Neil with the 20th pick of the draft. RHP Gene Bacque was taken at #10 by the Athletics. Bacque never made it to the show (i.e. he came from the Spritze DB), but was playing minor league ball in Hawaii, and got cut. Apparently a Japanese sportswriter encouraged him to try out in Japan, and the rest, as they say, is history. The Cardinals had the most picks in the draft, grabbing Juan Uribe, Hank Edwards, Mike Dorgan, Harry Kelley, Danny Clark, Cinders O'Brien, Larry Strands, and some filler in Dillon Overton.

Whopper of a trade: SS Trevor Story from Detroit to Brooklyn for 3B Casey Blake, and C Jerry Grote. Both Story and Blake were in the All-Star Game in 1906, and Grote is a tremendous defensive catcher. Brooklyn has moved Jerry Royster to 3B, and signed C Heinie Peitz. What did the Tigers do at SS? Oh, they signed some guy named Alex Rodriguez on November 21st, and pulled this trade off on December 29th.

Joey Votto finally pulled the pin at age 46. Doc Halladay came into the draft but went undrafted, I will let you know where he ends up; tough league!
Two weekly sims later he signed a minor league deal with the New York Giants. Last edited by JaBurns; 06-23-2018 at 09:25 AM. Reason: Update |

One of the beautiful things about RDL I just finished a season where Bevo LeBourveau led the league in hitting. Bevo led the league with 233 hits and .367 average. In RL he played 280 games over 4 seasons with the Phillies but did have some great minor league numbers. He just finished his 4th season in my league interested to see what happens to him.

Was Doc asking for a huge signing bonus or something?
