Trouble importing '17 game to '18

Hopefully i'm posting in the right spot! first off, love the game, have been playing various versions for years, Ive never had to import a new game due to various technical issues with my machines, which leads me here....

I can not figure out how to import my 17 game to OOTP 18.... I've searched files for my my OOTP 17 data, including the world.dat file I'm supposed to upload with no luck...

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

i had problems when i first started with the same thing. Found out it was because i was not putting the correct info in the destination box. RchW wrote up a great how to save and restore for an unhappy poster about a year ago. Disregard the first 4 posts. The info on how to back-up and restore starts on post 5. The post that says how to restore begins in post #7. Hopefully it'll help. Good luck. And let us know if this works.
