Buying on Steam

Not sure where the appropriate place to post this thread was, but I'm guessing the general board can't be too far off. If it's the wrong place, please move it. Thanks.

So, I am considering buying OOTP 15. Not a baseball fan, but the game interests me and it's fairly cheap right now. The only question I have is, if I buy it on Steam, will I be able to activate a version of the game downloaded from your website using the key for the Steam version?

Likewise, if I buy the game off the website, will I be able to play the steam version using the same key?

Pretty sure RichW is correct. That said, I purchased v15 on Steam last week, having never purchased anything before on Steam, and was a little concerned that it would affect how I launch OOTP, etc... I have found that nothing has changed: I launch the game the same way, find the files where I expected them, etc... Not sure that helps, but FWIW...

The answer is yes and no.

I know because they had a way to do this with copies of OOTP 14 and FHM 14 bought directly from the website, so I checked that link and there is an option to retrieve a steam key for a copy of OOTP 15 purchased from the website. But, only for pre-ordered copies.

I didn't pre-order it, so I guess I'm out of luck there.
