Recently upgraded game to 5.7.66 - can't access old saved games
I've just upgraded FHM5 to the latest version and since updating no saved games have been available to load. I checked in the Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 5\saved_games folder and all the previously saved games were still there but the game won't recongnize them. I then copied one of the saved game folders to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager 5\data\saved_games folder and can now load that game but can't save it - when I try to save it comes up with the error message "could not create game folder"
Obviously there is some kind of issue with where the game is trying to load saved games from - I was hoping there's an easy fix so I can access and save games again? |

There shouldn't be a saved_games folder in the \Program Files data folder - did you add that manually? I'm surprised that the game is even able to see something placed there, but Windows User Account Control will prevent anything from being written there, which is why you get that message when you try to save it. That folder, and its contents, should probably be deleted before trying this fix:
The usual explanation for games disappearing from the load list is a corrupted index file - there'll be a file named load_index.dat in the saved_games folder (the one in \Documents), delete that and re-start the game and it should re-generate a new list with all the saves in that folder. |
