Head Coach

Ive played plenty of OOTP, but am new to FHM. I assigned my head coach as an assistant and wanted to name an assistant as my head ( signed Barry Trotz as an assistant), but the game wont let me sign a new Head coach from free agents or promote one. Am I missing something?

The game still sees the former head coach as the current one - you'll need to release him normally for the head coach spot to be treated as open (we'll probably be disabling the option to switch him to assistant, since that's an unintended loophole for removing coaches.)

Thank you. I just was trying to demote one and promote one but it makes sense that if he is the head coach he has to be totally released.

You should be able to appoint him as a Assistant.
