Historical problems

Spritze in another thread asked me to post here. This is to list what I feel was lost in the last two versions of ootp.
I loved the spritze db, and was excited when historical minors arrived.

However I felt something was lost in that once hist minors are checked, league customization is no longer possible. I can not add teams, delete teams, alter leagues.
Back in say ootp 16 I could take any database, stats with the game or spritze hs or whatnot, and determine the size of my league, minors or not, when I wanted a draft...and the new players would show up each year and be available for whatever teams are there. For example I hate 2 subleagues, so i have all the teams in 1 subleague with 2 divisions. I can’t do that with the hist minors setup.
So much work has gone into it, and it looks like s great db, but in the words of the wolf, I wanna play it my way. And unfortunately I can’t.

The draft can also at times be a stickler, no matter the league set up, but I know this has been mentioned in the last two versions.
Finally the last mention is how weak the negro players come in rated...these would many be real star players if the could play in mlb at the time, but due to ab ip requirements they lose their value. I recommend a special way for the ai to obtain ratings from negro league players, the spritze db tended to have them come in as much better talent.

Ok that’s all I can think of for now. Thanks for reading.

These are the settings I use for this issue in all my leagues. A few versions back this got changed to the current 300ab and 40ip, this must have been for some reason but I do not know what it was. The Spritze db got around this issue by simply doubling AB and IP to clear the higher threshold but historicals must remain true to history as much as possible so the gamer must adjust this themselves. I have asked for these thresholds to be lowered over the last two versions but since it is not happening there must a good reason to keep them high.

A mode that allows fictional minor leagues with real minor league players is what is needed for this issue. Right now it can only be done with real MLB players. Minor league players are absent when that is chosen. I too would like to see these negro and minor league players active when this mode is chosen.

100% with you.
Historical minors players available like the way just mlb guys are now is the ticket.
Thanks for the limits. Though I did a test run a while back with low limits for like 1930 and the negro players still came out as 1 star guys. I can do another test and see what comes out.
