Trade and AI settings advice needed
I would like to set up a replay league that begins in 1971 and pretty much follows all real life transactions. However, I want to have veto power over trades involving the team I am controlling (Cleveland). Essentially I envision a "how would history have been changed?" styled project where the Indians kept all the players I liked instead of trading them away.
So I am wondering what settings to use for this? Specifically regarding trade frequency and trade difficulty? After reading through the help files I am guessing that maybe the only way I can come close to doing this would be to make each team human controlled and manually enter all the trades myself. I recognize that when I alter a few of those trades it is going to impact the rosters of those other teams. I am thinking that I would then turn over roster control of those teams to the AI. I am curious to know if anyone else has tried something like this? Thanks much for your feedback! Mike |

Yes, you would have to manually make all the transactions yourself. But another thing you could try is to create a test game, and when you get to the point when you would want to alter a trade, see if you can turn off the real life transactions option temporarily. Then make the trade you want and turn it back on.
The problem here, though, is that once you deviate from the real life transactions, you could encounter unexpected errors or maybe OOTP wouldn't be able to complete subsequent transactions involving anyone who was in your manual trade. But you can test it and see what happens. |
