Best OOTP Leagues on the Net
With so many OOTP leagues up and running nowdays, it's sometimes difficult to decide which league to join, so I came up with a little idea that might make recruiting for that otherwise unknown league a little easier.
How about an annual award given to the "Best OOTP League on the Net"? We could have owners from teams in leagues nominate their league with a website and other owners could vote. When the voting period ended, a special notice could be given to the winning league so the commish could post something on his site recognizing the fact that other owners and commissioners see his league as the best for that year. I think this would be a wonderful way for all the OOTP fans out there to pay tribute to the commissioners among us that spend thankless hours developing and running a league for us to endulge ourselves in. Other categories could be: "Best Feature" - i.e. the agents idea that someone on this board talked about...of course we would need some elaboration "Best Website" - Many commissioners spend many hours developing their site. "Best Participation" - I've seen some leagues with very little turnover...what makes that league so great? These are just some ideas, but I think the "Best League" is something we should do. I'd like to hear feedback from you guys, and maybe even a few nominations. |

I'd appreciate if this wasn't elaborated on for awhile. I am currently considering starting a new simuation baseballl league project, but it is still in EARLY planning stages. Squish. |

that'd be great! I'd vote for the ACLs ever changing web site. Why, Orson Welles, Mr. T, Hulk Hogan, Swimsuit models, and the Facts of Life crew have all made appearances....that is just one testament to the star drawing power of the league!
ACL Web site it's in rush phase with the playoffs right now...but it's funny most of the time! A testament to the commish. |

I think there is an awards group for online baseball sim leagues. Not sure how legit it is, but I suspect they will respond in this thread and give an overview .

Edit: Hehe, just found who Stamos is - the musician roommate on the TV show Full House. That's pretty funny & I'll take it as a compliment even though I really disliked that show . Just wanted to throw my spare change into this arguement:
It is impossible to find the "best" league as each person (being us) who play in the leagues will always look for what they enjoy. Some people love real players, others prefer fictional. Some like the current (although very flawed) free agent system of OOTP. Other leagues, (like FBBL) use a human run system, which I find more enjoyable. And countless other examples. To say one league is the best...is just a little silly. And having said that....FBBL is the best :-)

Damn straight. Go FBBL. Maybe if I advertise it in my signature and post constantly, it'll become half as well known as Mark's league.

Ya, you're probably right... I haven't posted in a long time either.. I just remember how often I saw your posts in the old board. Not saying it's a bad thing, just saying you post alot.

Just because I'm bored, and I'm in the league, I decided to post it. |
