Minor news bug
using Cubbyfan's 2006 rosters, managing the Mets, Pedro Martinez pitches a 5 hit shutout against the Brewers. The Mets, despite getting only two hits, win 1-0. The news article after the game reads:
Relying on precision control and an effective arsenal of pitches, Pedro Martinez held the New York (N) Mets scoreless today. He scattered 5 hits over 9 innings, and fanned 10 on his way to the victory. Hope this is the right place to mention this. Otherwise, I am loving this game. Loving it. Folderol!

I had to reread this 3 times to figure out the error. I had to delete my original post claiming no error. Martinez is a Met. He shut out the Brewers. He did not shut out the Mets, his own team. |

Problem solved, I think.
Look up text object 14905 in your english.xml file. It has only one token that refers to a team, but it needs two. I noticed this problem in the text database some time ago, but apparently not before the updated XML file was released on 6/15. Here's how that line of text appears in the database now: Relying on precision control and an effective ****nal of pitches, [%personlink] of the [%team#1link nickname] held the [%team#2link nickname] scoreless today. He scattered [%pitching ha] hits over [%pitching ip] innings, and fanned [%pitching k] on his way to the victory. This improvement will be included in the next patch. |
