Feeder Leagues

Any chance of a programmed college/high school feeder setup with real schools? Maybe a basic Division I, community college, and top high schools from East, West, and Central regions. Since we have real players for about 3 years worth of draft classes, it would be nice to have them already on their respective teams as an option. It seems we can only have one or the other to start a new game. There are a number of great templates people have put out there but the process of adding that to a current game is quite tedious. I generally wait til the pre programmed draft classes run out to add a feeder setup. I realize there’s probably a licensing issue with the NCAA and logos, but if the real schools and maybe not logos and nicknames were there it would ease some of the burden of manually editing players and what not. It’s slightly tedious but changing logos and nicknames after the fact would be less time consuming if the players were already on their current teams. All this would be nice, but this is an awesome product and I will continue to support the game irregardless.

Feeder leagues need more love in general.

Pretty sure I read somewhere else in the forum that feeder leagues have gone untouched, unfortunately. I would love to see this area get improved.

Because of the style of play I favor, feeder leagues are a necessity. In fictional games at least. According to feeder league math I need 93.3 feeder teams to fill my draft pool. I rounded that up to 100. That's 100 teams playing games, fielding rosters of 30 players each, each generating stats, and all 3000 of them using memory and processing power. The performance hit is noticeable.

Don't get me wrong, it's a trade off I have to accept but 100 teams is really not that much compared to a real NCAA set up with at least an equal number of HS teams. It would not be difficult to do something for feeders I think. But right now they do what they are supposed to do: produce draft pool players with stat history. I don't think time invested in them will bring much return in terms of game quality since most folks don'y use them because of the performance hit.

I think that - like associations - it's one of those features that

don't really work how users want them to...
so users don't put them in their universes ...
so they show up as being not used very much in OOTP's data ...
so they don't get much development time ....
so they don't really work how users want them to ...

Yeah, I think that is most likely part of it.

Its certainly the case for me. I was incredibly excited when associations were announced a few years back. It was that major feature for me.
however after using it once i found it was merely a shell of what i hoped itnwould be and didnt like certain things it forced. Ever since ive never bothered with it again yet hope it gets a revamp one day. Associations was a lesson learned carried over to the tournaments foundation from an observer perspective.
