Online league functionality?

We've been getting lots of info on expansion. A couple of questions if Cole has time about online leagues...

Will we be able to set line-up in advance for specific games? Maybe a 7 day line-up screen as in OOTP? I may want to set-up up my lines based on whether I'm home team with option to make last change and match vs. more balanced lines on the road. Or I may want to dress different 4th liners based on the tendencies of the opponent.

Also, is there some kind of depth chart so the AI knows who to dress if someone is injured?

Hi there,

I expect to have more information to share with the community in the near future about online play and it could even be the topic for a future blog.

Until then I don't want to provide misinformation of any kind. To be honest I haven't really delved into that aspect of the game.

That being said, generally speaking the mode will operate similarly to how it did in much earlier versions of OOTP. I do expect this mode to be one that becomes quite popular and likely will see future updates for future versions and/or patches to add more bells and whistles and improve functionality.

Bumping this one rather than starting a new thread.

Lots of questions out there about online leagues. One I'm in is nearly full and about ready to go.

We've talked expansion to death, it would be nice to get some info for those who will play primarily in leagues.

I'm sure the guys running these league would like to know how like OOTP the functionality will be, the format of data for reports, etc.

When I have information to share I will be sure to.

Generally speaking though, there's not a lot to say. If you are familiar with Out of the Park online leagues, it's quite similar. You just play the game as normal, and then 'export to ftp' .. Then the commish uploads the exports and runs the sims. There's not really a whole lot to "show" or discuss on this aspect of the game though.

That's important right there.

Important functionality for league play where you may sim a week of games at a time would be the ability to set line-ups and lines and goalies for future games. Similar to the 7 day line-ups in OOTP.

Having the HTML reports available as in OOTP for leagues to easily post on a website would be important.
