Q about larger leagues in 1800's
Question one of the long time historical players can help with
Would like to play a career starting in 1871. But i want to play a 16 team league through the 1960's when the next round of expansion happened ok the first part is easy- bring 8 more teams, fill teams with fictionals, alter the schedule each year, the 8 teams that came in in 1901. ok Here is the question. How will this work with the- oh what's the box called- where it keeps track of teams, ballparks and changes them automatically. maybe the exansion box checked? 1 For the 8 original teams in the game, would the game still change their team names, and ballpark names in a 16 team league? 2 What would happen come 1900-01 when the league was already set to expand to 16 teams? Would it be more best to simply turn off the expansion box prior to the 1901 expansion- as the teams will have the correct names of the new 8, just be sure i have the correct team and historical ID's so the computer then thinks it is the normal 16 team league? Or will the AI have a problem with doing that? Curious Thanks |

Ok
after looking over the stats folder a bit more closely I see the game moves to 16 teams in 1882. So I just decided to start from there...saves that entire problem But I would like to play after 1901 (as i am using spritzie's HS db with asians and negro league players so there will be more players than their actually were so plan to use +4 teams all the way- so will try having development on, but recalc on as well, thus having the fictional players that come in develop, while the historical players can have one year swings, but then go back to their normal level in the new season) |
