Managers letting starters go forever and ignoring certain relievers
Hey guys.
I'm currently playing the late 70's Orioles in a historical simulation. I watch the game but let Earl Weaver handle all the decisions. What are the best settings to make sure he 1) Lifts pitchers sooner and 2) Doesn't use the same relievers every day, leaving a guy or two on the staff with almost no appearances? I have a five man strict rotation with six guys in the pen. |

Back in the 70's a Pitcher going 8 to 9 innings was a common theme. Pitchers were able to complete games back then on a regular basis.
In 1975 Catfish Hunter pitched 30 complete games. In 1975 Jim Palmer pitched 25 complete games. In 1975 Baltimore Pitchers, pitched 70 complete games. In 1971 Baltimore Pitchers, pitched 70 complete games. In 1978 Baltimore Pitchers, pitched 65 complete games You have to many Pitchers on your roster. I believe under strategy for each player you can set a max pitch count. Last edited by Pirates; 03-05-2019 at 06:20 PM. |
