Legend - Eddie Collins Auction Issue?
I saw a Legend, 2B Eddie Collins Sr. in the market, highest bid was 140, with 8+ hours left on it. So I figure I'll throw on a bid of 145 and call it a night. Except, as soon as I put my bid in, it tells me that bid was accepted, but someone else has bid higher, at 145. Okay, no big deal, I'll do 150...same thing happens, my bid was accepted, but someone has outbid me, at 150. I try higher, go 160, same thing. 175, same thing. 250, same thing. I didn't want to go higher, for fear of winning and spending a lot of PP.
Is this a bug, or is someone cheating the system and has a program that is swooping in right before my bid is accepted? This seemed to happen to me earlier tonight to, but I was bidding late, but I kept losing out, but I didn't think anything of it. As I post this, there is still over 8 hours, 25 minutes left on the auction. |

This is just how the auction works.
Whatever amount you enter in the box is your maximum. If it's more than the current high bid, it won't all be applied immediately. Just enough of it to move your bid to be the highest bid. The rest is held in reserve and you'll only have to pay it if someone else ups the bid. In your case you were the guy upping the bid, but you weren't beating the other guy's maximum bid. Basically it works the same way as eBay.

Okay, that makes sense, thanks
I only had to run it through my head about 4 times before I figured it out. I've never bought on eBay. I leave that to my wife |
