OOTP 12 vs. OOTP 15

Hi, all:

I have OOTP 12 and am considering purchasing OOTP 15 because I figure it must be better. So I'm querying the geniuses here to see if that is the case.

What makes OOTP 15 better than OOTP 12? Is it worth purchasing, or does the majority think they are similar enough that, even at half price, would be a waste of money. (For instance, is the 3D ballpark feature as cool as it seems?) Keep in mind I'm only doing a fictional league, so updated rosters, etc. is not that important to me.

I'd also love if someone wanted to tell me exactly how to go about creating my fictional league. I'm overwhelmed by this, and would love if someone could point me to the most efficient way to start (i.e., after I create my teams, I assume I should adjust the global info first, then create specifics for each team, right? Is it as simple as going tab by tab?) Also, I've read that people sim 20 years or so to create a base, then wipe out the history and start over. Can't seem to find where I read that, though. Is this what the majority does?

Lastly, how important is it to adjust specific in-game sequences (like bunting in the seventh inning down by one with two men in scoring position)? Seems time-consuming to set up each situation for all of my teams. Is it worth the time? Or just leave it even for every team? Would the AI still strategize?

Any other input not related to these queries is also greatly appreciated.

Thanks, team.

I play fictional and I have not regretted upgrading with each version between and OOTP 12 and 15 nor would I ever go back to 12. As to why, the reasons are too numerous (for me) to discuss here. I recommend that you do some research by looking at old newsletters which announced each new version - see for yourself whether things pique your interest.

Use the fictional game creating wizard (which may be one of those enhancements between 12 and 15). I think you may have heard that wrong - why would one sim 20 years and then erase history? I'm thinking that they sim 20 years to create history, then take over a franchise. By the way, I play with MLB history but fictional players. It's great.

My opinion is, it's not worth the time and effort. Work up a strategy that you like and apply it to all innings and situations. Even better, recruit a manager with strategies that agree with your tastes.

Any other input not related to these queries is also greatly appreciated.

Thanks, team.
