Coaching Preference

My manager's coaching preference doesn't really seem to matter. If I hire a manager that prefers defense over offense, I expect him to have a different lineup than the previous manager who preferred offense. I expected it to matter, but it doesn't seem to. Am I wrong?

Even in a sim game there are realities to observe. Consider the real life Dodgers. Do you think that a replacement for Mattingly would simply sit Ramirez and Kemp because they are poor defensively? Not happening. Like it or not big contracts play unless it become a joke like Dan Uggla.

To preserve reality Markus must ensure that the effect of such criteria are small. You will be more likely to see it where two relatively equal players are involved. Otherwise the bat and the contract win. I feel the OOTP AI is too sensitive to defense which causes it to flip infielder and less so OF positions by pitching handedness. This does not happen IRL.
