Question Draft Result Import Issue/Question

The online league that I run simulations for recently held our amateur draft. I went to load the draft.csv file and apparently it let me load it twice.

At first glance all that seemed to be affected was the player and league history pages (which are easy to fix). However, I eventually noticed that each draftee is listed TWICE on the "Negotiate with Drafted Players" page.

I ran a test negotiation with one of the draftees, and when it was submitted both instances of the draftee on the Negotiation page registered that an offer had been made. I figured that was acceptable and the issue would be resolved and forgotten about once we finished negotiating with drafted players.

However, I then went to negotiate with a second draftee and found out that my offer to the first draftee was DOUBLED when making calculations for how much I had left to offer the rest of my drafted players.

Of course, this is pretty much a show stopper since it would make the negotation period arduous if not impossible.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and know of a way to remove the duplicate set of draft results/negotiations?

Thanks in advance!

I had this happen, I just had everyone ignore the duplicate player and everything seemed to be in order. Then mysteriously in the next draft the players in question showed back up in the draft pool (Most likely because they weren't signed). Marcus did fix my file and labeled it "slightly corrupt" But looking back at the issue the double import is most likely the cause of my issues the next year with the draft.

Here is the thread that pertains to the issue (It won't help you now, but we have an idea of what probably caused it)

I should have mentioned in my original post: we use feeder leagues, so the players in question are already existing. Perhaps that makes our situations slightly different?

I don't believe the game created a duplicate set of draftees, but the record each player being drafted is duplicated. I'll have to verify this though!

Thanks for the reply!

our issues have some things n common.

1) I also accidently imported my draft pool twice just like you
2) I also had duplicate players listed in the negotiating screen

Obviously the common denominator here is importing the draft pool twice...the reason the players ended up back in the pool is because the game considered them unsigned draft picks and they reentered the draft the next year.

The problem we ran into with our work around was, I thought I could just delete the players from the draft pool the second time around, but when I did it deleted the guys who were signed and played the last season too. So while you see two players they are (I'm sure) assigned the same player ID. In either case, it is an issue that messes stuff up now and probably later, which is evident by us having to submit our file and have Markus fix it for us.

Good luck getting this resolved, I know what a bitch it is and it is defiantly an experience that will hopefully help others if they ever have the issue, or actually help them avoid it

Is it not possible to delete the duplicate players?

Or does that wipe out both "copies" of the player?
