11 Walks in Shared No Hitter
Thought this was unusual enough that others might be interested:
In case any one was wondering this ties the all time record for walks in a no hitter. On July 28, 1976, Blue Moon Odom, of the White Sox, threw five no-hit innings against Oakland. He walked nine and allowed a run. With the game tied 1-1, manager Paul Richards lifted him for Francisco Barrios, who completed the no hitter with Chicago winning 2-1. The 11 combined walks is the most in a no-hitter. Don't know how Appier managed to walk eleven and not give up any runs but he did. And the number of double plays? Zero.
