I got a C64 by working a paper route in 5th grade and saving for over a year. Now I am here with you all. Best choice I ever made.

I sometimes think I will eventually lose interest, but games like OOTP, Football Manager, and several others keep pulling me back in. |

Yeah I am an early one, mostly lurk these past couple of years, but I remember getting my cd in 2000 I think, bought nearly all versions ever since.

For me, finding out about OOTP happily coincided with being cooped up during the pandemic. And with retirement (mostly). What were once vices are now habits. I can play the 1966 Season, which was my first experience playing with Strat-O-Matic cards (in 1967). Then we switched to APBA cards, and many years later to APBA’s computer games (first DOS, then Windows). OOTP is the most complete experience. The support is impressive, and I enjoy the colorful, contentious conversations on these message boards, and I have learned a great deal about the game from those of you who have been playing for years. Thanks for paying it forward.

I have to say, for me anyway, OOTP peaked as a personally enjoyable experience with 6.5

I wish the screenshots showing the early versions would have survived in this thread. I came onboard with v4 demo but I honestly don't remember those early years too well.
