How does one import players/rosters from csv into the sim?

Okay, so to be as clear as possible, I wanted to do fully custom rosters with my own players. SO, I started by exporting all the .csv files, I imported them into Excel and got every player I wanted added in and set up, now I'm in a pickle.

I don't know how to import them back into the sim from the edited .csv files, so I'm stuck with the unchanged player names, heights, ratings etc, and a bunch of .csv spreadsheets that I spent hours editing just to not be able to use (?) I guess?

Did I waste 3 hours or is there a way to import into the sim? Specifically (if it helps) I edited the following files:

player_master.csv
player_contracts.csv
player_ratings.csv

Can they be imported into the sim and, if not, is there any use for them other than for the sake of logging historical stats and such?
