Something wrong with "Fill teams with fictional players" function
I am trying to set up a fictional league with players coming from all over the world. But I've encountered some problems regarding the function of "Fill teams with fictional players" and "default player origin".
In previous versions like OOTP 20, I'd firstly set the league's "default player origin" to the way I want it, say, 40% American, 30% Dominican, 30% Japanese, etc. Then I'd hit the "Fill teams with fictional players", then the distribution of player's nationality is suppose to work just like the way I set it, right? Out of 100 players, there should be 40 American players, 30 Dominican and 30 Japanese player. But in OOTP21, I don't know whether there's something I did wrong or what, the "Fill teams with fictional players" function never work the way I want it to! When I set the league's "default player origin" to, say, 40% American, 30% Dominican, 30% Japanese, and then hit "Fill teams with fictional players", it turns out that all the players generated are ALL AMERICANS! It won't even matter if I set it to 1% American and 99% Dominican or any other country, it just keep generating noting but American players! Then I found out that if I change the nationality of one team from America to other country, say Japan, then try to fill teams with fictional players again, guess what? That particular team is now exclusively made of Japanese players, while the rest of the league stays exclusively American, regardless the nationality percentage I set up in "default player origin". Has anyone experienced similar problem? I'd appreciate some explanation, many thanks! |

There is checkbox for league that forces league nationality maybe it's default on by mistake? If not sounds like a bug

In the "League/Teams" section, I changed the "league nation" from a specific country to "unknown", and the problem was still there. I am not sure if there's other checkbox or something that'd force league nationality?

Yes, this definitely seems to be a thing. I’m getting a full list of players with an “unknown” city of birth if I fill a league with fictional players, and they are all from the US, even with different country percentages set as the player default. The exception to this is if I’ve set the region on the team settings page, in which case that team will get all US players properly created within that region – but still no players created from other countries should I have happened to set foreign player limits. All other teams for whom a region has not been set in this case, still show as city of birth unknown.

This reminds me! It doesn't work properly for feeder leagues that are age-restricted. for some reason it'll fill a high school team with mostly teenagers, but then a few random 30 and 40 year olds.
