Why won't these players import?

Why won't these players import into a certain league's draft pool at the present time? Can anyone perhaps tell me why? These are all players with a single cup of coffee, so to speak, in the major leagues.

I have no idea why these players are not importing at the present time. Can anyone please help? Thank you if you do, of course. CD out.

They would show up as FA’s not in the draft pool

I am trying to import them into a draft pool from a file. I have previously been able to mass-import players into draft pools before, from lists like this one, but have not been able to here as desired yet. And I don't know why it's not working this time. Any ideas? I have checked the box related to drafts, of course, but it hasn't imported the players yet at all for the needed league, unfortunately.

Now two weeks from the next draft pool announcements in the relevant dynasty now. Can anyone please tell me why the above players didn't import as planned and desired into the applicable league's draft pool, most likely, if it's not too much of a problem here? I don't know the answer BUT,It has been 13 days since you initial post, you could probably have imported them all individually by now

Ok, Now I know the answer. I just imported them just fine using your list.
1) go to Free Agent screen
2) Go to actions
3)Import Historical Players
4) Select the Database (Historical_database.odb and confirm
5) From the import screen "Click here to select file"Navigate to the txt file containing the players (I put it into the import/export folder in the league save
6) Make sure to CHECK the Import player(s) into draft pool box
7) Import players
8) Go look in the draft pool
9) Enjoy

Did you MASS-IMPORT ALL of them at the same time? That's what I'm trying to do, from a text file I created, not one by one, but if I have to do it one player at a time, I will. Please let me know. Thank you. CD out.

It keeps saying the historical player import failed, whenever I try to import these players. It shouldn't, I think. Could it be because they only played one game apiece in each of their careers? Just wondering, that's all. Now at the day before the draft pools are announced, in that dynasty, by the way. CD out.

all I did was copy and paste your list from your post into a text file and import them using the procedure I listed above and it worked just fine

I've tried SEVERAL times to import from a text file, and all the players' ID codes should be working, and all, but they don't seem to be, for some reason, even after doing the above any number of times, even before I first created this thread. I'm rather stumped about this at the moment, seeing as I've been able to do this kind of thing before, if I remember correctly. I got all the necessary player ID codes off BB-Ref, but still, something's preventing this sort of thing working for me here.

Note that all those codes are associated with players who only played one game in the Major Leagues before 1880, as of the current time. IF I have to, even though it would mean a lot more work for me, no doubt, I'll import each of them one at a time, of course.

Any chance for your .Dat files? Put them into a folder and zip it and share of Google Drive, Mediafire or somewhere. No offense but it seems like you are doing something wrong somewhere, if Pain was able to import. Did you try individually to see if theres a issue somewhere?

The file in question is Tea and Coffee Union Player List 001.txt, but it doesn't seem to be importing the players in question properly. I'm stuck on November 14, 1877 until I'm able to import the above players and/or one other into the appropriate draft pool prior to it being announced for this league. I won't advance until all the needed players are imported, for sure. CD out.

try renaming it or just use the attached. Also take a screenshot after you attach your file. Instead of saying attach a file, it will say the name of the file. Not that it matters. Also if you go to your saved games folder and the league you have copy the .Dat files and paste them into a new folder then zip it and share to me on google drive or Mediafire.

I am having the same problem! I have not been able to import historical players as a mass .txt file nor individually with the player's identifier (e.g., ruthba01,1927). I know I have done both in the 2019 game and I think in the 2020 one. (Unfortunately, I am not being allowed to import the particular game I created in 2019 into 2020, either. Trying to import using the same .txt files that I used to import players into the 2019 game is not working.) It seems that this process could be more user-friendly somehow. Love this game when I can get it to do what I want!

Sorry about the rant. Very frustrating to spend more time trying to set up a season than to enjoy playing it.

yes the saved game I need to look at. OOTP - Data - Saved Game - league name
