Trading slider?
I wanted to sim through a 2019-20 season so I could start with real rosters, etc for 2020-21. I found a trading frequency slider somewhere when I started. It was set to 30 and I brought it down to 0 so teams wouldn't trade.
Now I am in the offseason and I can't find where the heck the slider is to adjust it back to 30! Have looked through manager options, league rules, file/game settings, etc. Everywhere I know to look.....where is this slider? Does it somehow disappear after the season? |

Does the game save automatically when I exit the game?? I was messing around with some things and now it saved everything.
How do I exit a game that I don't want saved, do I have to kill it in the task manager? |

Happened to me too. Since then I always "save as" prior messing around with bigger changes and name the save differently so that I can go back to the original save if it doesn't turn out as I wanted.

Thanks Tommy. A video game without that option in 2020 is... unusual.
Another question: I am playing with an NHL team and I'm interested in a player from Europe. Do I really have to wait until he becomes a FA and hope that his team doesn't renew with him? Isn't there a way to show a player my interest and to influence his decision? Does it make a difference when I scout him or put him on the shortlist? Thanks again Last edited by Irr11; 04-01-2020 at 02:13 PM. |

The forced save on exit is a weird holdover - I think Football Manager set the original precedent for doing it that way and OOTP followed, and we just kind of went along with it with FHM. But I've never been a fan and suspect it leads to corrupted saves when people try to kill the process in mid-save. It's probably going away in 7.
Re: the potential European signee, you don't need to do anything, if he's NHL quality and his rights are owned, both will factor into his decision to sign a new deal with a European team. |

Thanks, Jeff. I mean if nobody owns his rights, if a Panarin or a Kovalchuk decide to come over.

I'm going to start a new career game and look to work my way up through the leagues and see how high I can get.
I'm guessing after the NHL, AHL is the most reputable league, followed by the CHL leagues and then ECHL? Is this correct? |

No, not really. I guess in terms of North American, sure. But the SHL, NL and KHL would all definitely be ranked higher. |

Player development
Where does players benefit the most when it comes do development? Teams with the best coaches i suppose but are there more variables to consider. Matching talent vs the league they are playing in matter? What line they play on?
Also, is there some kind of disadvantage in bringing prospects to NHL and letting them play in the minors instead of staying at home in Sweden for example? |

What do all the abbrevations next to my players mean? What's F, H0, H3, etc?

So from an NHL perspective, if a prospect isn't 2 stars, don't even think about having him on your team unless you're really desperate. Anything less, he should be at a lower league. 1.5 guys are fine as 13th F/7th D type guys who may max out. You just don't want them playing all the time. F is only seen in leagues where there is a Foreigner count. It tells you who counts as a Foreigner. H is for Heat Ratings. A - Assistant Captains, C - Captains. |

Can I add a 2nd GM to a savegame to control another team? Or do I need to resign from my current team?
