Can't install on my hard drive
I successfully installed all versions during beta (by using the Single folder installer) on my external hard drive.
I now wanted to install with the full installer on my hard drive, but it doesn't work. After installing the game askes me what shortcuts to create and then I get that error message. I still can run the game from my external hard drive but would like to have it on my hard drive - needless to say, re-install produces the same result

You need to use the single folder download version.

Either there are problems with settings in your config folder or permission problems when running the installer.
1) Start the installer as "Administrator". Does that help? 2) Check the Windows programs folder and locate OOTP 21. Rename it, then install again. 3) Enter %appdata% into the adress bar of the Windows file explorer and navigate to the OOTP 21 folder. Close OOTP! Then rename the config folder to something else, for example config-org. Install OOTP again. 4) Open "Settings" in OOTP main screen, then click on "Troubleshooting". There are several buttons which help you to find the relevant OOTP folders. For example "Open folder which contains the app.cfg file". Open that folder, it should be a folder with the name "config". Close OOTP! Then rename the config folder to something else, for example config-org. Install OOTP again. |
