MLB Manager - Live Ball Era

Thanks to OOTP for their suite of products, really appreciate the realism and hours of entertainment. It seems that MLB 18 has entered a Live Ball Era. Compared to earlier versions, there seems to be an emphasis on scoring where it appeared previous versions had been more balanced. ERA's for quality pitchers appear much higher and bullpens appear less effective. Simulating games in single pitch mode can be interesting with many 'crooked number' innings. Was this change intentional? Do you envision a potential setting for your league set up to consider Live versus Dead Ball eras? Not complaining just curious.

I dont really see a change this year vs. previous versions.

I agree that eras are inflated and bullpens are trash, but it all just looks like the same thing thats been there for years.

Pitching/Bullpen

I’ve been playing this game for over 10 years. The pitching in 2018 is horrific. Top bullpen guys get drilled regularly. Very disappointing in this change. I have great rosters and consistently finish 20+ games out. Very frustrating and something I never encountered in previous versions.

I’m having fun, still to this point...(with the understanding that this is a limited vehicle.)
Started out a historical play with the real 1928 season. Since than there have been seasons I’ve purchased and seasons I haven’t ... So I’ve gotten a mix of real and fictitious players. Funny to see Korean and other international players before their real time. Also with free agency from the beginning, it’s been amusing to watch players jump about a bit more.
Now coming into the 50’s and 60’s without league expansion, the player pool should be great for the original 16 teams.(no dh to boot)
Not totally a serious endeavor but having fun.

Oh ... (previous post) a little off topic. Sorry. But going through pitching dominance vs batting, I don’t necessarily see a programming change behind the game compared to two years previous.
Though next years game engine should be new.
