The Blue Jays really pushed the limits of their payroll last year in order to win the World Series... which they didn't. They are paying the price now.

Some experts are saying that had the worst offseason in the majors.

Notable Losses

Carney Lansford (FA)
Kirk Gibson (Trade w OAK)
Bert Blyleven (Trade w LAD)
Buddy Bell (Trade w CWS)
Robin Yount (FA)
Terry Kennedy (Trade w MTL)

Notable Additions

Howard Richmond (Trade w CWS)
Dave Winfield (Trade w OAK)

TRADE

The Padres were looking for a possible future shortstop while we were looking for a future option at back-up catcher. Plus you can never have too many relief choices...

To PADRES

Jose Anaya
Jim Brooker

To BLUE JAYS

Tom Prince
Earl Clayton (SDP retains full salary)
Bob Corbett
Christian Rodriguez
Mike Blankenship

Clayton joins the big league camp.
