Basic league used for simulating stats

Good afternoon folks. I play a tabletop baseball game where I play the games for the team I've chosen, but i want to run stats and simulate the games I'm not controlling. I'm thinking OOTP is a good place for this, but I want to know what kinds of limitations I'll have. Here's what I'm looking for:

1.) Very basic league with no trades or salaries, just players on a team playing through a schedule that I setup, following lineups and a set pitching rotatation

2.) A way to create fictional players and have their ratings generated based off of stats

3.) Nice to have - an import feature that lets me type these players into excel and then import into the OOTP softare.

Also, if this is all done much easier in a more recent version of OOTP, I'll gladly upgrade, but since I'm only using it for sim, the only version I have is 2017.

I played around and seems like I can generate ratings off of manually entered stats, but i wanted to get some feedback on using OOTP for such a simulation.
