Historical replay finished...now what?
I tried to find an answer on the forums without success, before creating a thread. Hopefully someone has an answer. I just finished a historical replay from 1871-2014. I had all rookies imported to their original teams and played through all the seasons. It took two months. Now I'm getting ready to start season 2015. There are not any rookies this year which was expected. Now the big question...can I continue this universe with fictional rookies coming up by turning on the draft? What setting for the league do I need to change to make this as accurate as possible and become fictional? Is it possible? Do I need to turn scouting on and how do I get rid of the historical tab now that I don't need it? Thanks anyone!

Yes, enable the draft and set # of rounds, OOTP will generate fictional players for your draft pool.
You do not need to do anything else. Turning on Scouting is entirely up to you and whether you wish to play with it on. You don't need to get rid of the historical tab. |

Thanks bluenoser. I have a pretty good 144 year history with real players, now to see if the fictionals can break records in the next 144.

Just a heads up for everyone. I found out the hard way that there is one thing you have to do. Uncheck customized playoffs under the options tab. The entire league showed every team eliminated throughout the whole season. I let 2015 run through ( after backup) to see what would happen. The playoffs showed starting on 6 Oct but they never happened. Since every team finished eliminated the sim just kept running. I stopped it in Oct 2016 and restored the backup. Then unchecked the customized playoff box and all the e's disappeared. Should be good to go now.

Well, I just finished the 2015 season and the playoffs were still a little screwed up. Nothing wrong with my schedule and I didn't alter the league setup in anyway. The playoffs had your standard one wildcard team from each league and the division winners. No one game wildcard playoff, however the 1st round of playoffs was the wildcard team against a division winner in a one game series. The division series was best of 5 and the league championship was best of seven and the overall champion. No world series round. I clicked on customizable playoffs which opened up a screen where I pick how many teams make the playoffs. I didn't do that before 2015 so I guess that's where I screwed up. No big deal. I'll just write off 2015 as the commissioner (me) blew it. Thanks for the feedback bluenose. I appreciate it.

you could always manually do the playoffs if you havent moved to the next season yet.
