Hoping I've found a new HR king (just for fun, predict how many dingers in his rookie year?)

Jimenez, whom I've decided to hand the DH position to at least to begin the 2022 season. Assuming he plays a full season, how many do you expect for his rookie season? Will it be a seamless transition? Or will he be in for a rude awakening and learn pretty quickly that he's now facing Major level pitching?

179 homers in the 5 years since he's joined the Jays organization. His 3 previous seasons have been 47, 46 and 41.

- 28 HR's in 120 Rookie league games
- 64 HR's in 231 A games
- 46 HR's in 123 AA games
- 41 HR's in 139 AAA games

So, just for fun..how does his rookie season go at the DH position?

I would predict about 35 home runs with a very low on-base percentage (sub-.300) if he plays a full season in the majors. Let us know how it goes.

Will do! And I'd be very happy with a 30+ HR rookie season!

Yup, I'm basing my prediction off of other similarly-rated OOTP players I have observed. I would guess he'll be a perennial 40 HR hitter with around a .250/.300/.520 slash line. Ton of RBIs if you put him in the right position. His BB% could improve it looks like but as it is I wouldn't expect much. Usually when people reach their potential in average and power already, I don't see their eye improve much, even if they have theoretical potential in it.

As a sidenote, I think it would be fun to do a friendly competition like this. Show a player and his past statistics, ratings, head scout ability, player characteristics, etc. and have people predict the person's next-year statistics.

It sounds like a dynasty idea. Get on it!!!

If I were him, I would refuse to hit any HRs after posting a 173 OPS+ in A ball and then being left there the following season.

Jimenez rookie season:

Seemed to improve as the year went on. I think he'll be a dangerous hitter for the Jays for quite awhile.

2nd in the league in RBI's.

Add 3 homers in his first 5 career playoff games to go along with 6 RBI's and it definitely seems he's getting hot at the right time of the year.

edit: And now he hits a go-ahead 2 out, 2-run homerun in the bottom of the 6th inning in game 7 vs the Twins. The Jays have advanced to the World Series.

Had a monster game vs Boston yesterday.

He's on pace for 43 homers and 122 RBI's in his 2nd season. Currently tied for 3rd in the majors for homeruns.

not to be #NegativeNancy but .231/.283/.419/.702 slash line with a 95 OPS+ (100 is average player) and a 1.2 WAR isn't a dangerous hitter, that's barely a Major League starter. Without even seeing his HR and RBI totals and just looking at those numbers I wouldn't even start the guy. Plus you add in his 181 K's and the fact that he contributes zero on the defensive side of the game, the guy is as one tooled player as you can get. If It was me I would trade him, just saying.
