Logo Questions:

Ok, a couple logo questions since we're moving to png format:

1. What is the transparent color now?

2. Do they have to be circular to show up correctly in the game?

Markus replied to one of my threads. I had heard that square logos would be chopped off in OOTPB2006.

Markus said the game would use both circular and square with no problems...square ones would not be chopped.

Can't help you the with the first question...I am a graphics dunce.

When you are familiar with the PNG format, you know that the transparent color is...transparent!

I AM familiar with png format. The question was what was the color that the GAME used as transparency. Not the png format.

In the past (before your join date of this month) OOTP made true black transparent when viewed in the game.

Both good questions....because I had been wondering the same thing. Thanks for clearing up the second question, Eugene.

I am just going with what we know about true black.

for some reason this made me giggle

And yes I'm hoping that the transparency issue is fixed (well not realyl much of an issue), as it's a bit of an oddity to see logos with black blotches on them in the game like it has the plague.

I am 98% sure I read that the game uses PNG transparent as the transparency color.

Also, I have OOTP5, OOTP6, and OOTP6.5. Just because I joined the forum this month doesn't mean I'm retarded. I know that true black was the transparency color, but that was because the game used Bitmap format.

My understanding is that the reason Marcus moved to jpg/png format for this version is percisely because it supports transparency without having to arbitrarily interpret black as transparent. So any black you have in your logos will show up as black in the game and anything that transparent in your file will be transparent in the game.

From looking at the html reports, everywhere a logo is displayed, the 'transparent' area of the ping still shows in that light blue color.

What gives?

That sucks. That means it has something to do with Microsoft being in the mix, no?
