Are we all that's left?
Seems like at one point, not so long ago, there were several more AUs posting here. Looks like we may be the last of a dying breed, eh. Hope there are still a lot more playing the game and just not posting their alternate unis than what we see here.
Paul Norman missed his big chance a couple of years ago when boxing was still a hot niche sport. He could have made money off a carefully crafted pro boxing sim when the Klitschkos were kings and the sport was big in Europe and still drawing good attendance figures in North America. A small dedicated team of programmers could have produced a game that would sell decent numbers. Now, with the Clown Kings on top of the heap, TV has pretty much lost all interest leaving the infrequent broadcasts to the specialty channels. That's no way to build a fan base. Cap

I mostly run my fictional uni. I figure there's very little interest in that.

General disgust at the way Mr. Norman botched the game (was it called TBCB 2013?) and did nothing since then has kept be away. Away from the game--even the 2.5 version, which was relatively stable and playable--and this forum. I have not read The Ring in years. I have a fictional universe and a historical universe going in TBCB 2.5. I don't know if I will bother with continuing either. I will never understand why he acquired the franchise if he didn't plan to do anything with it. Anyway I'm too old to worry about it or care. As they say, "it is what it is."

I'm just glad to be back doing it again, even if the crew is small

Still checking in occasionally and starting and re-starting a uni every now and then, just don't seem to have the time to post about them so much.
TBCB 2013 was a horrible end to what had been such a fun game. Luckily 2.5 still makes for an enjoyable experience. |

Since I picked the game back up recently not only am I enjoying it immensely but I find myself going to Youtube and finding old fights posted. Some from even the '40s and '50s. But mostly from the '70s and '80s. It reminds me just how big boxing used to be and how in my mind it will always will be "The Sweet Science".

I'm still around and check the boards to see how the universes are going, but am not really spending any time running universes (and then certainly not maintaining and writing about the results)

Speaking of Title Bout, I've heard from one of the top lads at OOTP that Paul Norman has his own company and was never an employee of OOTP, as I'd always assumed. So he must be free-lancing when he says he's working on the baseball sim.
Good thing we still have TB 2.5, eh. Paul Norman owns TBCB so unless he sells the rights, doesn't look like we'll be seeing an updated version in our life times. Cap

I am still around. Haven't even opened Title Bout in years after PISD Paul burned it to the ground. Would love to play it again someday, time permitting.
Good to see all the old but familiar faces here.
