Increase in control potential

Is it possible for a starting pitcher in the draft with potential 3 plus pitches to improve his control potential? (control potential - 45). Does height play a factor? I know stuff increases as a pitcher develops but what about control? At what point do i give up & make him a reliever?

It's just as possible for a pitcher's control to increase as his stuff. No guarantees, for some guys it will and some it won't. For most it won't, but every once in a while, you'll get lucky

I don't know for sure if height matters, but given that taller pitchers are known for sometimes taking longer to develop control in real life and that OOTP tries to imitate real life, I wouldn't be surprised if it did make a small difference.

Thanks for the reply. My Yankees love to draft tall starting pitchers (6'2" or taller) with a fastball reaching 94 or potentially higher. I can always convert them into relievers as they have done in the past (Betances, Chad Green, etc.) I'm just fascinated to watch a home grown pitching prospect blossom into an ace! Something the Yankees have always struggled with. Teams like Tampa always seem to scout pitching well (i.e. Blake Snell) something which i'm trying to desperately emulate. Just tired of bidding for free agent pitchers wanting in excess of 25 - 30 million a year due to my lack of developing pitchers. Cannot sustain a balanced roster that way.

One of my strategies for a plan like this is to go for quantity in later rounds. I will look for pitchers that have talent in 2 places (Stuff/MOV) but lack in the third and try to grab 5-10 a draft. I do my best to fill my minors with them so they get innings and I get volume odds of one of them getting the POT bump or two that will make them MLB talent. I am really just trying to up my odds of running into some good luck.
