Question on wavers and making room on roster
What do you do when you have a pitcher coming of DL and you have no room for him? Ben Heller Yankees is off DL and I have Adam Warren who I think isn't as good and want to get rid of him but if I put him on waivers is he still on the 25 man roster? And if so what is best way to make room for Heller?

You have to waive and designate for assignment to clear him completely from 40 man roster.

You could send him on a rehab assignment

Remember that you should only waive players if you are willing to lose them. It should really be a last resort kind of thing.
The more common approach would be to find a player on your roster who has minor league options remaining and send them back down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

or dump someone else etc.
if he's good trade value and mlb-ready, replace the cheapest or worst RP in pen. option, trade, dump whatever. |
