Historical Mode- can't start employed

New player. Tried twice. When I hit the button the only option is to start unemployed. That's not what I want to do. Any help here?

What year are you trying? You don't see a drop down?

Tried 1969 and 1968. The drop down is there, but it only has "Start unemployed." No other options.

Can you start a normal (modern) game and select a team?

Yes, in the current season I can select a team in any of the leagues I've included, from the NHL on down. But I can't do that playing in Historical mode.

Okay. I figured it out. It certainly was not intuitive. Now I'll start playing my first game, so there will probably be lots of other questions.

I'm sorry, but can you explain what you mean further? Sometimes we do get wrapped up and see things as being easier than what they really are, but I'm not sure what had you confused or if something was displaying differently.

When I started a game, this is what I see (in the picture below). Was yours different?

It never occurred to me to hit "Start Reputation" to select a team; why would it? That makes no sense. It seemed logical that "Select Team" would be the place where I would select my team. Tried that and the only option was "Start Unemployed."

You don´t hit "Start Reputation", you open a drop box next to "Select Team" and in this dropdown you select the NHL and then a team.

Yes, as Sebastian said, it's just overlapping it right now. I can totally see how you would think that by the image, but that's not the case.
