How do waivers work?
Title says it all—how do waivers actually work?
I've attempted to claim 3 players thus far by right-clicking on the player in the WAIVERS panel and choosing Claim Player so that I get the message saying I've claimed him, and the PICKED column changes to YES. However, when I then continue the player ends up going to another team, and this has happened each of the 3 times. |

Yup, that's how it works in FHM4. Up to November 1, the previous year's standings are used (and expansion teams get top priority), after that the current league standings are used.

Ah, ok, that might explain it then. I’m top of the league, so I guess I have the least chance of claiming the player if any other team goes in for the same player?

Yeah, if anyone else claims him, you'll always lose.
