League Member Having Save Issues

In the OOTP 20 online league (just converted from 19) I commish, a new member has been having issues with saving their game. When he tries to save, he got the following errors in order:

"Error moving league files to the 'auto-save' folder! The auto-save function could not move one or more of the .dat files to the auto-save folder. Please delete the files in the auto-save folder manually to fix this problem"
"DATABASE:save_database - could not save sqlite database file OOTP tries to roll back the transaction"
"OOTP successfully restored the database files. Your database is NOT saved yet. Please check the disk space and the league folder, then try again"

He's using Windows, and this is his first OOTP 20 online league (he was/is in OOTP 19 leagues with no issue). We've tried troubleshooting options found in older posts about these same errors, but none seem to have worked for him. I'd really appreciate any help that could be provided to help us resolve this issue. Thanks in advance!

First 2 things to check are how much disk space they have, and that permissions are set properly on the league folder they're using that the folders aren't listed as read-only.

If those don't seem to be an issue, usually the best strategy is to try to use a completely new folder for the league (so best to re-download the league file manually to a completely new folder) and see if that helps.

He said he's tried all of the above, and it still isn't working for him. What would the next steps be to diagnose the issue?

Given the sqlite error, seems likely that the issue is that he has a non-basic ASCII character as part of the data path .

The way to work around this is to use a different data path.

To do so, open "Game settings" -> "Experts" tab and select another data path for OOTP like for example c:\ootp20

Then restart OOTP and it should work.
