Season 18 - 2036 - General Discussion

I guess I'll take the solemn responsibility of starting another Pt general discussion.

Tbh, not much to talk about, as the Sidewinders are a confirmed not very great team in diamond. Reggie Jackson was added to take over the RHP RF position, but he's rocking a .609 OPS and is actually splitting that position with immortal George Vukovich, who isn't hitting either but can at least play better defense.

How is everyone else doing?

My Fighting Saints are looking good in Perfect 417!

The Healy Hoggs are 50-41 in D375, 1 game back in their division and a 1/2 game ahead in the second wildcard.

Our rotation is struggling through the first half, their ERA of 4.50 11th in the conference. Dizzy Dean and Dennis Martinez both have ERAs over 5. Conversely, offense is good. 1st in BA, 3rd in OBP, 5th in runs scored.

Question: Is anyone else have trouble getting into the game? I can get into PT2.0 just fine, but for the last 5 minutes I get the 'cannot download league file' error for PT1.0 whenever I try to start the game...

I was able to get in pretty quick when I tried now, probably the usual server hiccups. In other news, the Sidewinders went 11-3 since my last update and are now 2 games out of the final wildcard spot. Time to get my expectations up before the September swoon!

57-49 for the Hoggs, still 1 game back in the division, but now also 1 game back in the wildcard. Only 12-13 in July, so hopefully we can bounce back in August.

The Hoggs had a strong August to jump ahead in their division. So far, they're only 6-7 in September (just broke a 5-game losing streak) but are 80-67 overall, 6 1/2 games ahead thanks to Liuzhou, who were a perfect league team last season, going off the boil with an 8-19 August. Our magic number is 10.

The Hoggs came from 2 down (losing both those at home) to defeat the Berlin A's 3-2.

We are now 1 down against the Adelaide Bite in the D375 Sub-League Series.

The Hoboken Zephyrs are the farthest along they've ever been in Diamond. Currently down 2-1 in the Sub-League Series in D353. Just need 3 more wins and the squad will finally make it into Perfect, where I assume they will be destroyed in short order. Just want to be able to say I made it!

The Hoggs have avoided getting swept in the Sub-League Series thanks to a 6-run 9th which propelled them to an 8-7 win meaning they have at least not been completely humiliated by Adelaide.

And we're done. Now to wait to see if we snag any postseason awards before going on a pack opening spree.

I've never missed the playoffs at Diamond in 7 seasons there, and been good enough to get promoted to Perfect once.

And on cue, the Zephyrs won 3 straight to head to the Diamond Series! It took 13 seasons, but the squad is heading to the top tier, if only for a year.

Lexington is tough, I'm down 2-0 - They have as a starting rotation of Perfect Pedro, perfect Gooden, perfect Maddux and perfect Randy Johnson.

Very nice indeed.

Tim Lincecum (20-9, 3.45 ERA, 3.77 FIP, 1.40 WHIP, 220K) won the Cy Young, while Ron Santo took home a Silver Slugger. Garry Maddox won a Gold Glove, which surprised me greatly as there were a couple other Maddox's in the league who significantly, imo, out-performed him. Phil Rizzuto also won a Gold Glove.

Time to rip some packs!

...And I pulled my first perfect. Woop woop!

Also pulled a Trevor Bauer, which will be going onto the AH.

Along with a 80OVR Dustin Pedroia and a Bryce Harper. I am now deciding whether Harper's a better value for money option vs RHP than rookie Aaron Judge. Better eye, certainly, but not quite as much power and less contact... For the role I want Harper/Judge to play, eye is probably more important... Hmmm...
