Drafted Players not Signed

Does anyone know where the amateur players who do not get signed end up?
Roy Halladay was not signed in my historical sim. He is still listed when I search for him, but I have no way of drafting him again or signing him as a FA.

Should become a free agent free to sign with anybody. He might also enter the draft the following year. That's the only two possibilities I can think of.

actionjackson lists the two possibilities I have seen, if he doesn’t show up as singable in a player search I believe he has decide to re-enter the next draft.

I am in Challenge mode so I cannot make any edits to him. He is never in any drafts nor is he a FA. It has been 3 drafts since he didn't sign.

Hi, Any player that gets drafted, but doesn't sign with the team that drafted him, is held over until the next draft. You will be able to see them when you search their names, but they are not eligible to sign with anyone. Any player that isn't drafted becomes a FA upon conclusion of the draft and can sign with anyone.

That said. It would be nice to be able to trade the draft rights to a player you can't sign for some reason during the signing window.

Also note when doing historical - a historical player's draft year is when he actually signed with the team that drafts him. Players drafted, but didn't sign with a team won't be in that year's draft.
