Will Players with Poor Ratings Succeed?

I don't use the minor leagues... I use the reserve roster to replace players on the parent team.

My reserve rosters are filled with players with poor ratings... will their ratings improve over time on the reserve roster to the point they will make the parent team?
… in the past I have just yearly purged older players that never made the parent team... I would let the 18, 19-year-olds stay on it in hopes they might get better... don't think they ever did.
Based on the ratings these players with poor ratings will never even hit .250 in the league... the pitchers will never have an ERA under 5.00.

Should I just delete players on the reserve roster with poor ratings?

Would appreciate your help and advice.

See screenshots for examples.

Are these stats what the players will put up in his career?

With such poor ratings and potential ratings, he should be dropped from the Reserve Roster in my opinion... unless the rating and potential ratings can change for the better over time.

Here is a 19-year-old catcher.

Will he ever play for the parent team or will he just sit in the reserve roster for 10 years... or until I delete him?

Will this young 18-year-old pitcher ever make the parent roster?

I've never done a reserve roster and I've had ever version since OOTP 11.

Now I just added this as a test to run. It will take me a few weeks though because I just moved and we are doing a minor remodeling project while moving in.

The reserve roster has worked well for me, but I always made sure the talent level was good enough to play in the league by creating developed players for the free agents... I let the AI create the free agents this year and find that it creates a lot of useless bench players.

If the 18 and 19 year-olds with the poor ratings develop into good players over time, then I would use them.

That's why I need to know if they will improve or not.

Surely someone must know the answer.

Test it yourself and find out

Then share the answer for the next person who wants to know

Thanks for the advice.

I'll give the OOTP Community a few more days to see if anyone is knowledgeable about this subject.

Do 18 and 19-year-old players with poor ratings ever develop into good players?
