I do love stuff like this. I play at a glacial pace, though, so I rarely get an opportunity to see stuff like this, or the storylines! Maybe someday!

But at that pace, you'll eventually encounter more of them than most, and savor that discovery. I envy that a bit.

Noah Song is a real person and the highest baseball pick ever out of the Naval Academy.
The Washington Post had a great article about him back in June.

I was just reading about him in Baseball America and how he was a bit of risky pick due to the two years of military service he must serve before he can pitch professionally.

So, in other words, OOTP is right on.
