anyone import 18->19?

did you get a 10+ gb file? is that normal and i was impatien? i let it run for.. lets say 2-6 hours, i forget at this point... been a couple weeks. lng enough for a temp 10gb file to be written while 'optimizing' records.. think i got to 400k+ records optimized, and i needed pc resources elswhere and ended the process at that time.

i delete players that don't make majors through settings and don't keep anythign beyond 2 years of injuries, news etc... only a 1.2gb league but has/had ~57 years of a 30t 162g league with slightly reduced MLB mil structure to make it even for each team etc... similar but bit smaller than a real mlb/mil structure.

I don't recall how big the file is, and I'm not by my computer at the moment, but it did take me like an hour to import a league with 17 seasons played on a pretty good gaming PC

Took me 2 hours to import my game. That's on a Mac with a SSD.

I tried to import an 18 league when I first got 19. After I don't know how many hours I decided it wasn't worth the trouble, I didn't need that 18 league, and stopped the process.

The time it takes to import a league from 18 is pretty ridiculous to say the least.

yeah, i figured i'd continue it, but no biggie to restart.. app is on ssd, but data folder is on second hdd.

i only hve 30gb open on that 1tb drive for the data folder... my read/writes are still ~normal as of now.. but adding a 10+ gb file and who knows how much larger it would get if i ran it overnight without supervision might cause a problem or run out of room.

it's handling small bits, so it's not sequential read/write speeds. it's more like a random 4kb read/write spec, which is terribly slow for any mechanical drive.

may have to do some spring cleaning.. it's overdue. still don't get how a 1.2 gb league needs a 10+gb temp file, lol.
